Client
Black Country Housing Group is a non-profit organisation who offer affordable homes to those who need them, they currently have 2 care homes and a number of Retirement Living schemes.
Project
BCHG got in touch with the Black Country Growth Hub team to see if they could reach local PPE suppliers, as their regular suppliers had low stock during the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The organisation were concerned about their staff who were on the frontline of the battle against COVID-19.
Solution
During the first national lockdown, the Black Country Growth Hub team had put together an up to date list of PPE suppliers in the local area for Black Country businesses to use.
The team passed on this list which was very useful for the Black Country Housing Group and enabled them to find new suppliers which they hadn’t previously known of.
Conclusion
After contacting the BCGH, the Black Country Housing Group managed to find a different supplier to use for PPE who were more local, this allowed them to decrease delivery time and enables them to collect their orders if necessary.
The organisation decided to purchase PPE supplies in bulk to avoid any future shortages, as the Coronavirus cases were rising at the time and they wanted to protect their employees.
BHCG were very happy with the alternative suppliers they found and the support they received from the Black Country Growth Hub team.
